This week has been all about relaxing. Charlie and Noah have been off school and for the most part we’ve been enjoying late mornings and hanging around in our pyjamas.
Usually the weeks whiz past in a haze of school pick-ups and home work, so it has been good to spend some ‘quality’ time with the kids. We’ve had lots of quiet time, have been to soft play and enjoyed a quick play at the park whilst it was dry. We’ve more things planned next week and Chris and I are having a day & night in Cambridge on our own next Friday. Really looking forward to that!
Here’s are my #littleloves for the week. If you’d like to join in, read all about it here.
I’ve had less time than I would like, to read of late. If you read my post about Elodie’s room, you’ll know that bedtime reading is off the adgenda at the moment. But, I have managed to sneak in a few chapters of Mhairi McFarlane’s new book ‘It’s Not Me, it’s You’, whilst hiding in the bath. This book came out at the end of last year, and I’ve loved all 3 of her books to date.
Mhairi’s writing style is charming and very funny. Her characters are believable and relatable. And, the narrative is peppered with little details, like Ann’s King Kong slippers in ‘It’s Not Me, it’s You’, that make me smile. I genuinely laugh out loud like a loon, reading her books. Im pretty sure it irritates the hell out of Chris.
I don’t think TV has been great of late. Do you? We’ve been missing a good detective series like Broadchurch, or Vera the last few weeks. But, I did manage to catch up on the last of Mr Selfridge this week. Love that series. Chris doesn’t, so I have to wait until he’s gone out to watch it.
