My name is Kerry and I am addicted to online shopping.
I like to think that I am now in ‘recovery’.
In the last few weeks (OK, admittedly weeks makes it sound less impressive), I haven’t bought a single thing online. Perhaps my addiction to ASOS is losing its shine, though this may have more to do with the cost of doing up our home. I think the penny has (finally) dropped that buying yet another pair of jeans, to add to my already impressive collection of unworn clothes, is not going to buy a new sink, new cupboards or pay to knock down any walls for that matter.
And it’s funny, because you’d think that I’d miss it, but I really don’t.
That said, and I think I am about to do the biggest u-turn I have ever done whilst writing a post, I would like a few new things to take on holiday. Not a lot, just a couple of things to ‘update’ my look, as it were.
I have plenty of clothes from last year or even before that will do just fine to take away with us, but there are a few things I would like to add to the pile, to hopefully make me look more 2016 and less ‘that’s so last year’. For one, I would like an off the shoulder top to throw on over my old midi skirts and skinny jeans. I have yet to add an off the shoulder top to my wardrobe, but it’s top of my wish list!
I also have my eye on a white midi skirt, though it could be a disaster with three little ones. I can imagine it being covered in lots of chocolatey handprints when we go out to dinner, but I’d like one nonetheless. They are so versatile, I could even wear it with trainers and a tucked in denim shirt at home, but whilst we’re away I would stick to sandals and maybe a striped bodysuit.
One item of clothing that always makes me think of summer holidays, is a maxi dress. They are perfect for wearing on balmy evenings, strolling down the beach before dinner and cocktails. Even just thinking about this is getting me excited! Roll on August!!!
One accessory that I can’t do without on holiday is sunglasses, mainly because I spend half the time relaxing in the sun with a good book. I tend to read a couple whilst we’re away and it’s one of my favourite ways to while away a day in the blistering sunshine!
