How to Style Wide-leg Trousers

How to Style Wide-leg Trousers

Skinny jeans are old news. Well, I say old news. Every man and his dog still wears them, but they are no longer the freshest trouser look in town. Alongside flares, wide leg trousers are making a comeback. I remember wearing and loving them in my early teens, and so I, for one, am quite pleased to see them make a comeback. The only problem being, I’m not quite sure how to wear them!

I’m sure I can’t be the only person to feel this way and so I thought I’d do a bit of research for ideas. If you’re looking for inspiration on how to wear wide leg trousers, then here are a few ideas.

Casual Athleasure Look

Casual wide leg trouser styling

Athleisure style isn’t usually something I’m drawn too, but I love this look. These grey wide leg trousers, paired with a casual stripy top and white trainers looks like the perfect Sunday chilling outfit to me. Perfect for popping to a cafe for a coffee and pastry, before a quick stroll in the park.

With a Low Neckline

Wide leg trousers look great with a funnel neck, but there is something about a low neckline, particularly an open neck shirt, that screams Parisian chic. Wide-leg trousers are a modest look, so a daring neck line offers a nice counter balance. This is also a great look to take you from work to play and day to night.

Dare to Wear Leather

Is there such a thing as a look that Olivia Palermo can’t pull off? I doubt there is, but she makes wearing leather cropped wide-leg trousers look like a definite style yes! Now if I could only get that hair to go with those trousers …

Super Long With Knitwear

There are two ways to go when wearing wide-leg trousers. You can either go cropped or for a long length. Personally, I love how casually chic a longer length looks, particularly when paired with expensive looking knitwear. Though it should be said that a cropped length is far more practical, particularly for wearing in a damp British climate. Decisions!

All Black

This pairing of black on black looks super chic and elegant. There’s something about a wide-leg trouser that looks effortlessly stylish. This styling oozes laid back style and the black on black is both elongating and flattering. The gold detailing on the bag, stops it from looking too matchy matchy or dull.

I’m still searching too! I think you have to try a few to get the right fit. The pair I have are slightly too big, but I do have a pair of semi-wide leg trousers that I LOVE xxx

Love this style so much but unfortunately I am quite short legged so it doesn’t look great on me…

LOVE it all too. It’s more comfortable than skinny jeans and that’s perfect with me! I suit cropped pants more because I’m shorter but love this trend xx

I know! I have a few looser fit jeans now and they are so much more comfortable. So much so, that I kind of begrudge wearing skinny jeans now x x
