If you have a big family or small children, the bathroom can become one of the busiest rooms in the house. If your bathroom is lacking in space or looking a bit tired and weary, there are lots of ways you can give it a refresh without breaking the bank. Pebble Grey, who supply bathroom accessories and mirrors, have some tips to get your bathroom stylish and functional for all of the family.
Add some colour
Bathrooms traditionally stick to plain white or blue colour schemes but that doesn’t mean that you have to as well. Adding a splash of colour to your room can liven up the place and will allow you to put your own stamp on it. Plus children’s toys and bubble baths are bright colours so it will all blend in!
For a cheap way to add some character, you can use transfers on your tiles to create a pattern. These easily stick on and come off whenever you change your mind. You could also get some reasonably priced bath mats, shower curtains or towels online to create a colour scheme.
To make the most of the room you have, you need to take a look at the space as a blank canvas. You don’t need to completely change your bathroom suite for this, simply draw or use an online tool to map it out. Have a look at the space and switch things around and see if you could add some extra inches by trying out a corner sink or a new shower over the bathtub. This will give you a good idea of where the room is being taken up. Bigger prints on walls or tiles on the floor will give the illusion of more space in a small room so if you can fully redesign then this is a great option.
If you have a blank wall, then why not add some shelving to maximise the space. You could opt for a stylish and simple floating shelf to put on the wall to hold your bathroom toiletry essentials or if you have any alcoves or even corners, these are great places to add a shelf as you won’t need to worry about whether they fit near open doors. Adding a small shelf above your sink is the perfect place for your toothbrush holder and hand soaps and will give your bathroom a hotel feel. If you have the option to redecorate, you could even swap your pedestal sink for a modern floating option and add shelving underneath.
